Important Update: With uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, know that we at the Endowment remain focused on our long-term mission and our relationships with our partners and grantees. We are following Center for Disease Control guidance to ensure the safety of our team members as well as that of those with whom we interact daily. Effective March 20, we opted to move to a full “work remotely” plan as there has been an uptick in confirmed cases in our local area. It was established September 21, 2006, at the request of the governments of the United States and Canada in accordance with the terms of the 2006 Softwood Lumber Agreement between the two countries.

Supported by the Endowment and produced by Mila Alvarez, State of America’s Forests is an online multimedia guide that helps users explore the many benefits that forests provide, understand challenges facing this renewable resource, and learn about forest management and conservation. The guide includes modules that provide detailed information on forest benefits, threats, and stewardship. The interactive website provides information on fire; the role forests play in providing clean water; the threat of forest insects and diseases; invasive plants; invasive animals; and much more.
